Barça Set to Play Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host the Basque side in domestic competition over two years after they moved out for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside based on approved permits. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
